Happy New Year! I hope the start of 2025 has been kind to you and that your holiday-hangover wasn’t too bad. I just emerged from a much-needed break, where my laptop was confiscated (by choice) and my social media was deleted off my phone. And let me tell you—even though I LOVE working, it was pretty great to be away from the metrics, the notifications, the to-do lists for a while.
I learned that routines speed up time. Meaning, if you are stuck in the same routine for too long time seems to go faster, making it feel like you have less of it because after a while, your brain only records new experiences. Doing things differently and breaking out of the routine actually slows down time—so I just wanted to share that in case you needed to hear it. My roots are in neuroscience and I will forever find the brain absolutely fascinating.
Anyway, I’m happy to be back and really had to restrict myself from wanting to jump into things full speed ahead. If you’ve been here for a while, you know that the energy we’re in right now isn’t supportive of big launches or instating new things. It’s been forcing us to slow down, assess what is truly aligned for us and lay the groundwork when the energy clears in the spring.
Here’s what we’re working with this week:
January 6th Mars retrogrades into Cancer: Mars will be here for a while - inviting us to dedicate more time and energy to introspection. Revisit emotional dynamics with your partners, clients and collaborators and prioritize building connections with people and processes that support you. Use your frustration to pinpoint what’s no longer aligned.
January 8 Mercury moves into Capricorn: Capricorn is all about practicality and long-term planning, making the rest of this month the perfect time to get strategic. Tackle those back-burner projects, refine your messaging, and set objectives that focus on sustainability and long-term growth. January favors big-picture thinking over quick-wins.
