Last time Venus was in Retrograde in Aries & Pisces: March 4th - April 15th 2017

Venus, the planet of love, money and beauty, only goes into retrograde about once every 18 months—but when it does, it shakes things up in ways that leave us insecure about our work and wondering if what we’re doing even matters anymore. Venus governs what we desire and how we receive it, so when it backtracks, we’re forced to slow down and reassess what’s truly valuable—to us and to those around us.
This upcoming Venus retrograde moves through Aries (March 1st - March 26th) and Pisces (March 27th - April 12th), bringing two vastly different energies that will shape the lessons of this transit. Aries is bold, independent and unafraid to go after what it wants while pisces is dreamy, intuitive and receives by dissolving boundaries. Put them together in a retrograde, and you get a push-pull between personal desire and surrender—between fighting for what we want and realizing that maybe what we thought we wanted doesn’t actually align with where we’re going anymore.
I’m getting a little whiplash thinking about it.
But take a deep breath. Seriously. Pause, right now, and take a deep breath. Four counts in, eight counts out.
This is one of several astrological events occurring in March alone that will cause our lives to look completely different by the time we reach May. We have no choice but to trust in the process.
Heads up on what else is coming in March: Mercury Rx in Pisces and Aries, Lunar and Solar Eclipses in Virgo and Aries, and Neptune moves into Aries… a planet that only changes signs every ~14 years. These events will be covered in future posts.
What You Need to Know About Venus Retrograde
Venus retrograde has a way of bringing the past back around—especially in love, money and creative projects. Exes, old crushes, past clients, former business partners, or even hobbies you were once obsessed with but have since forgotten about may suddenly resurface.. but beware…
THIS IS NOT AN INVITATION. THIS IS A TEST.
The universe isn’t handing you a second chance so much as it’s handing you a mirror, whispering, “Look how much you’ve grown since then. Look at what no longer fits.”
Beyond relationships, Venus retrograde also stirs up confusion around finances, self-worth, and aesthetics (how you look, how your brand looks, etc). You may VERY suddenly question your whole color palette, feel confusingly uninspired by your work, or go back and forth about whether you’re charging too much or too little. If your income slows down, try not to view it as a crisis—it’s an opportunity to step back and reevaluate how you’re earning and spending your money. Are your pricing and offers aligned with what you truly value (and what people value about you)? Or have you been chasing money in a way that doesn’t actually feel good because that’s the framework an Instagram guru with a gazillion followers sold you for “only” $10K? I’m being dramatic… kind of.
Venus Retrograde in Aries
Venus begins this retrograde cycle in Aries, a sign that’s all about confidence, leadership and independence. This phase will highlight themes of self-worth and personal power… so if that’s something you’ve been lacking lately, prepare for some “don’t fuck with me” energy to surface for you now that will help you course correct and claim your worth. Prepare to be faced with questions about whether you truly believe you deserve what you want, or if you’re asserting yourself in your life and business instead of waiting for other people to give you permission to do so.
Venus Retrograde in Pisces
Then as Venus retrogrades back into Pisces on March 27th, the energy shifts. Pisces softens the edges, bringing nostalgia, intuition and a tendency to romantisize the past. But remember, again, this is a test. You may feel a pull to escape reality, which you can do by going within and taking the time to reflect on whether you’re chasing external validation or if your values are truly your own.
When Venus stations direct in April, you’ll have a much clearer sense of what truly matters to you. But while you’re in the thick of it, the best thing you can do is pause—especially before making any major decisions about love, money or business.

How to Work with Venus Retrograde in Business
Okay, now that you know what to expect, let’s get into how to work with it. In a nutshell, you may feel things slow to a trickle or find yourself second-guessing everything for the next ~6+ weeks. It doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong—it’s a strategic pause that will allow you to recalibrate.
Keep reminding yourself of that when you’re in the thick of it.
This is NOT the time for a dramatic rebrand, big financial investments or changing something major in your business in an effort to get things “working” again. Slow down, refine, reassess, and reconnect with what you really value.
What to Avoid During Venus Retrograde
Major aesthetic changes to you or your business. Your sense of style will shift post-retrograde, so please, don’t chop all your hair off or spend thousands on a new website. Just wait.
Launching a brand new product, service or offer. Retrogrades are for refining, not initiating. Launching now won’t take off like you want it to, and you may even change your mind about it. There’s nothing as discouraging as spending months pouring hours of energy and thousands of dollars into a building a program then pray no one buys it when it launches… ask me how I know.
Major financial decisions. Your perception of value is fluctuating, so hold off on big purchases, price changes, or investments until after the retrograde. Put a hold on your credit card if you have to. Only purchase the necessities right now.
Investing heavily in marketing or advertising. It’s tempting to throw money into paid ads or a social media coach to try to get your sales up again—but you’re not going to get the return on investment you’re hoping for right now, even with professional support. It’s best to see what naturally flows your way and save your energy (and your money) to go all in come April/May.
Starting relationships with new clients or collaborators. If someone new enters your orbit, take some time getting to know them before making any long-term commitments. Single sessions or short-term projects are best right now.
Signing major contracts or agreements. Retrogrades tend to reveal hidden details later, so postpone signing anything binding—and if you can’t at least get a second set of eyes on it before you do.
What to Focus on Instead
Revisiting old projects and ideas. If there’s something you started in the past but never finished, you’ll have the energy now to bring it back and refine it—as long as it’s still aligned with your values.
Deepening your connection with existing clients. This can be a great time to nurture old relationships and explore potential new work with familiar faces who you loved working with in the past. However if a new client comes back into your orbit that you didn’t enjoy working with, it’s time to let them go.
Reevaluating pricing and offers. Are you undercharging? Overdelivering? Are your offers truly aligned with what you want to create and how much you want to earn? The key here is to do the evaluation without making any major changes until you have that post-retrograde clarity.
Fine-tuning your brand messaging. Your values and voice may be shifting as you do this deep reflection, so you can use your new values to clarify your messaging (Mercury retrograde will also help with this)—just hold off on making any major changes.
Deepening your relationship with your work. If your enthusiasm for your business has been waning (especially since we just spent so much time in Mars retrograde), go back to what originally inspired you and reconnect with that energy. Get really solid on your “why” and go from there.
Clearing financial clutter. Review your budget, cut unnecessary expenses, do your taxes, and make sure you have the budget in place before making any new financial commitments.
Work on a passion project. Retrogrades are great for testing things out, experimenting with ideas and playing with low-stakes creative side projects. The key is to create without becoming attached to a major business or financial goal so that you really have the freedom to explore and do what feels fun.

Behind the Scenes: The majority of changes and projects happening at 10th House Astrology won’t be revealed until May—except for a passion project that will launch in a few weeks. Check it out and subscribe if you want to know when it’s available.
Bottom Line: Trust the Process
Venus retrograde will not ruin your life—it will help you refine it. Yes, it’s frustrating when things you were once SO sure about are now uncertain or the money slows down. And yes, it’s annoying when past relationships (business or personal) creep back in that you thought you were done dealing with. But it’s all temporary and is leading you toward something better, more beautiful, and more aligned with who you are becoming.
So don’t text your ex. Don’t panic if you’re not making sales. Don’t rush into changes that can wait. Instead, focus on the delicate process of refinement, take time to reflect on your values and trust that what’s meant for you will never pass you by.
By the time Venus stations direct, you’ll be a more confident, evolved version of yourself—no longer questioning your worth or the value of what you offer the world. That is the gift of Venus Retrograde.

Becoming Magnetic in Life & Business (Available March 5th)
I have a 9H Pisces stellium and my MC is right on the Pisces/Aries cusp. I’m already feeling so wishy washy with the astrology this year 😵💫 I’ve been doing a lot of grounding practices and a lot of refinement already the last couple months and have made some big decisions and some action! Do I just wait for this to pass before continuing action? Makes me excited for the other side 💫
Been feeling this already and hugely helpful notes navigating this energy especially as an entrepreneur feeling shifts in desires! So appreciated 🙏🏽💕
